Transifex.net Update (May 25)

Yo,

The past days we have been working on some new feature requests that just landed on our Transifex.net servers. Among them we can cite the following relevant ones:

  • Users can now download POT file for PO based resources
  • Auto-translate feature disabled for Fedora Project due to the possibility of problems with terms of use of Google translate.
  • The translators’ names are now kept/written in the PO files headers. It might take a while (hours) for all resources to be affected.
  • Added a way to the users to resign a project CLA if it changes in the meantime.

  1. Fedora Translation – update about the translation credit loss problem « Through Myopic Eyes Says:

[...] related to the loss of translation credits in Fedora translations via Transifex.net has been resolved (as announced by diegobz). The translators’ names are now kept/written in the PO files headers. [...]

  2. Nils Philippsen Says:

This (the attribution thing) is good news! Is there anything extraordinary a developer needs to do to get the attributions back in the po files or will they simply come automatically when we “tx pull”?

  3. glezos Says:

You can upload PO files with the old headers and all those copyright notices will be imported & used. Then with a fresh pull you should see them.

  4. diegobz Says:

Keep in mind that what glezos said is only needed for translations that eventually were done before your project start to use Transifex.net.

All the users that have done translations through Transifex.net were already added with the respective copyrights for each project that they have contributed to.
